Icelandic Chickens

Our Icelandic chickens came to us from Cascade Sheep & Wool Company in Illinois. The Behl's were able to obtain a permit to import a handful of Icelandic chicken eggs into the United States during a visit to Iceland in 2003 to participate in an AI seminar at The Southram Station. The chickens on our farm were hatched from eggs supplied from the Behl's original foundation chickens. We have found the Icelandic chicken to be a very self sufficient, hardy breed well suited for a free range farmstead operation. The chickens vary in color and pattern, and watching them develop is as exciting as waiting for Icelandic lambs. Please contact us for availability of trios of these beautiful chickens.
